1 · The server address

The same address works in every MCP client. In Claude and ChatGPT this is all you need: you add it as a connector and sign in.

2 · A personal token, for clients that ask for one

Grok, Codex and other key-based clients authenticate with a token instead of a login. Create an account, open Settings, MCP tokens, and mint one: it is shown once, is scoped to you, and can be revoked at any time.

Name the connector properly

Some AI apps only show your assistant the NAME you gave the connector when deciding which tools to reach for. A descriptive name is what makes it pick Altfy instead of answering from web search alone. Paste these as they are.

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)	Settings, Connectors, add a custom connector with the server URL, then sign in when it asks.	Claude reads the server's own instructions, so it depends least on the connector name.
ChatGPT	Settings, Connectors, add the server URL and sign in when the popup asks.	Use e-mail and password in that popup: Google sign-in does not complete inside it.
Grok	grok.com, Connectors, Custom. Fill name, description, and URL with the three blocks above.	Grok never shows the assistant the server instructions, so the connector name is what makes it reach for Altfy. This is the app where the name matters most. It authenticates with a personal token from the app.
Codex and other MCP clients	Connect through the mcp-remote bridge, using a personal token from the app, in the client's usual format.	Anything that speaks MCP works; the tools are the same 60+ everywhere.
